Default catalytic converter removal

02' Dodge 5.9 L diesel, 230k miles..I want to remove the converter and either knock the internal framework out of it or simply replace with straight pipe. Anybody done this and can perhaps tell me what to beware of? I don't see any sensor connection that may frigg up the ECM but then again I am presbyoptic as hell! Thanks in advance for your help. You do NOT have a CAT. That is a resonator on an 02 and it doenst plug like a cat will.

Default converter

What does the resonator do? Is it at least similar to a converter?

Its there make the exhaust less noisy. As I said, they dont plug up like a cat does. Theres no real reason to remove it.
