Default APPS question

I've been researching a lot and think I have my answers but have a quick couple question y'all may be able to help me with. I have a 2001 2500 4x4 cummins dodge.

I have codes: PCU P 0122, P 1694, and ECU P 1693. I know what the codes mean and believe my APPS is bad.
The symptoms are: occasional dead pedal, occasional throttle up for no reason, sometimes strange shifting (auto).

I know about the dead pedal and converter locking issues but can the APPS cause the phantom throttle up and shifting issues?

Yes it can cause throttle issues. What kind of shifting problems are you having?First get the APPS fixed. Most of the problems will be gone.Heres what I have used and they work well and cost less then the deal. http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=TPS98502

Seemingly wandering shift and TC lockup rpm/speed/and throttle position. In other words, sometimes it goes into od and lockup at 45mph light throttle and other times won't do it until 50mph and then only if I lift almost entirely. Kinda unpredictable shift points at times.

Is the trans hot or cold meaning operation temp. How many miles is on the trans?Shift points can be different because of load% throttle position and gearing.

You can adjust it, but with all the codes and the miles/age on it, be better to buy a new one.

I put a new APPS on today and though I've only put 100 miles or so on it, it feels fixed. I'll know soon if the phantom issues come back. The pedal seems to be very sensitive to my foot and do what it's told. Hasn't been that way in a long time it seems, .

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

By the way the truck has 279,000 miles on it and this is the 1st APPS.
