well i never thought of a clogged line, yes its been running frams since i have had it and running 14w50 every oil change. The oil leak sucks since it sprays everywhere since the breather leaks onto the fan. I routed it to a catch can but there is so much blow by pressure that it shoots it out of the breather on it. What is this seafoam idea?

theres a chemical used to flush the oil system, its called seamfoam, any autoparts store sells it as does walmart. also, get rid of the fram, they are cheap paper filters and they really suck especially in a turbo charged application such as the cummins diesel. go with fleetguard, they cost a little more but are much better. id also run you some lucas oil stabilizer in your next oil change, it conditions the oil and helps to recondition the seals internally in your motor, its 30 bucks a gallon though,

To bad it is out of warrenty, what will happen if it was ( in warranty) is that you would go to dodge they would determine that it was the oil filter and then go after fram to get back there money. This Happened in the 2002 I have when my buddy own it,so the whole motor was replaced in 2005.

they did the same on my grandfathers town and country, that motor last a yr or so before it threw a rod and they found parts of the oil filter again in the pan. it was replaced for free, not sure if they sued fram or not but they did tell my grandfather it was because the filter came apart and cloged some of the oil ports inside the vans motor

seafoam wont stop the leak, but it will clear out any buildup that maybe causing the leak. i would run either rotella 15w40 or go with amsoil 5w30 syenthic

course try that lucas oil stabilzer, it may help too

Poor man test for blow-by:
Take the hose off so the outlet is upright, then hold a small piece of paper over it. If it flutters, you are fine. If it blows the piece of paper upward, do further tests with actual pressure gauges. They are allowed a certain amount of blow-by before a rebuild is needed.

fleetgaurd, wix, donaldson, and baldwin I know are some of the better filters you can buy. I havn't bought a pos fram ever that I can remember. This is based off of the junk you don't want to buy from Autozone, Checker's or Advanced Auto....
