I have a 2001. The only way I can get it to shift out of 1st is to let off the throtle then push on it again. The only thing is the truck wants to go into 3rd. Same thing if I shift it using the lever on the column. If I am in 3rd and pull the lever down to 2nd, it shifts to 2nd but it seems to slip. I never pushed it because it needs to last untill my new one arrives. I changed the fluid and filter and also put in a new pressure transducer.

Any ideas??????

maybe theres a band loose not sure myn did the same thing with out the splipage and i just replaced all the eletronics on the valve body i also did a shift kit

 

I am having issues with my '01 Auto as well. Under low load acceleration, it like to "skip" through 2nd, only spending less than a second in 2nd. Getting it to shift into O/D from 3rd, I have to pull out of the throttle petal then reapply the throttle after it shifts. I am taking mine in for a flush soon, and part of the package is band and valve adjustments, and full diagnostics. I have adjusted my APPS, and completed the APPS ground relocation. Neither of these made any difference to the transmission operation. I'll let ya know what the boys at the Tranny shop find.

 

mine is an o1 and its doing about the same it wants to stay in 1st and i can let out of the pedal and it will change but i have to feather it down in to 2nd or it will pop back into first gonna change the filter and fluid tom but its going to the trans shop soon if the filter does not fix it the guy i bought it from said this happend before and he had the dealership change the filter and fluid but i am willing to bet they did something else...band adjustment or such i will find out this week i sure hope it nothing big i just droped 9 grand on a new scag and it did this while i was pulling it home.. oh well at least my yard will look nice
