truck is an 02 nothing has been done to truck other than K&N air filter. Truck is only used to pull animals to petting zoos so no heavy loads. Somedays it pulls fine, others it is like it runs out of fuel. Fuel filter is new, does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like either a bad LP or the VP44 given out or combo of both. Have you checked fuel pressure?

Scanning for codes and install a fuel pressure guage is the first step here. I would also look at installing a Pyrometer and boost guage as they help a lot with troubleshooting.
