Hello i was wondering when do you start to know when your vp44 is going out of your truck?

 

Stumbles and lack of power when you first start it in the morning, then hauls *** when it's warmed up. Depress the accelerator and nothing happens (dead pedal). Biggest thing to look for is if the CEL is on and the P0216 comes up.

Would if the cel doesn't come on but you still get the 216 code?

 

check engine light won't come on because of injection pump 9 out of 10 times. as mentioned p0216 is the death code you could also have p1688/1689 codes and I believe there is others for vp44 but those are the 3 most common

 

Dead pedal, trouble codes, stuttering engine warm and cold, rpms dont go above a certain range, tons of different thing to look for but these and others stated above are the most common.
