Default Battery Corrison

I just cleaned these termanials and they all gunked up again. Whats the deal? Charging system doing it? bad batts? (both sides are the same)

It's pretty common when the batteries get older and start leaking. I ended up switching to AGM batteries to avoid this very issue.

Ditto. Optima Red Tops ended my corrosion problems.



Those look like the OEM batteries.

Okay... very well, just happy its not the charging system. I heard it can do the same thing

If youd like you can tape some pennies by the terminals and they will attract/minimize the corrosion on the terminals untill you purchase new batts.

One word: Vaseline. I slather it on all the battery connections on all my vehicles and I have no corrosion problems.

Sounds like a pretty cheap fix to help get by. What would that cost a guy $.04? I like it. A mod I can actually afford

I thought it was 2 per post. I think it’ll cost you 8 cents and they didn’t come with the tape.
