You sure you're not thinking of the Holley Blue/Black style pumps? This one is a gerotor design, very very different from the centrifugal vane design that the blue/black. Those pumps are junk, I agree, but this one looks much more solid.

My mistake. You are right, I was thinking of the older Holley pumps. Don't know anything about the newer ones I am afraid...

You could go with carter, although they suck... or Airtex which is the same shitty design, just different quality.

Use whatever pump you want, you're way way way better off dropping the tank and doing it right.

Its 2 bolts to get the straps off, then you gotta pull the wiring harness and fuel lines, then remove the filler neck tubes, drop it. It helps to have a floor jack with a big wide board bolted to it to keep the fuel tank stable while you lower it. And, I know it sounds obvious, but try and get the tank empty before you lower or raise it.

I can drop a tank in less than an hour as long as the "Quick disconnects" come off the lines. Getting it back in takes about the same amount of time. For the first time figure 2 hours.

well quick question, i just got off the phone with the dealer and they said that the pump in the tank normal pressure was about 10 psi at idle and should not drop lower than 5 psi at WOT. CAN ANYBODY CONFIRM THIS?

This has been debated from one end of the world to the other.

Some claim this and others claim to never let it drop below 10.
