Default cracked manifold

My buddy has an 01 1 ton with an edge juice with attitude stock injectors hx35/40 hybrid stock vp and a 5spd. Even eith the hot unlock on the edge he can only build 10 puonds of boost my hybrid on my 95 will build 42 easy. Could this be due to a cracked manifold. He has all hi pressure air to air booting and clamps no boost leaks but there's soot all along the head and flange for the turbo also wat looks to be a crack on the manifold itself

Sounds like he has found his problem. I would recommend an HTT Manifold.

A tick that sounds like loose valves

Cracked manifold means lost drive pressure for the turbo hence lack of boost... So time for exhaust manifold...

my 98.5 ex man cracked and it looked small on top but after removal was way worse underneath. After cleaning up the ports (porting) it is a spooling animal now

with mine you could hear the air coming through the crack. a 3 piece is definitely the way to go because with 3 pieces it allows for expansion and contraction and shouldn't warp like the stock manifold.

I'm sure there is some performance loss, mine was almost a 2 piece when I finally changed it out for a BD 3 piece, There was also soot collecting on the valve cover and the head but I didn't pick up any more boost with the new one. I had 30PSI before and 30 after?

I'm running the ATS 3-piece. It helps keep your EGTs down with better flow, is easy to tap for temp and you won't be cracking any more manifolds...

Is the turbo in good shape? Stock? How many miles?
