Default vp44 bracket

well i got my pump off today and i noticed that my rear bracket wasnt the same as the others i have seen. my bracket has 4 bolt holes and only 3 are used the other has no point, 2 of them go into the bottom of the vp and the other one gos on a metal rod that comes up from the frame and bolts in there never seen this kind of bracket, has anyone else ever had one of these?

It's a factory style bracket. They actully used a few diffrent styles you'll see from time to time. Without support , under load the pump could break free of the housing.....that would be bad

Make sure you put it back on!!

why does it have a bolt hole that didnt have a bolt in it or anywhere to boltit up to? its that peice that sticks up it the pic

I read on another forum that Dodge/Cummins updated this bracket because the early style would break and eventually crack the timing case, too. Both options sound bad.

Ya ya just don't hear about the bad brackets anymore cause most all of them on the road have already been replaced or have broken and then replaced already.
