Exclamation Well i got it today!!!!!!!!!!!

Well i put a post up about the cutting out when i was coasting down hill but no response, so i pulled the codes. I got the typical companion code of 1693 and a speed sensor cod of 0500. So i went to a friends house who has a code reader and an found the world famous, notorious, unforgiveable, DEATH CODE of 0216. I cleared them and seems to still running ok and hasnt acted up yet, but we will see how long it will go before she dies all together. Just goes to show good fuel psi will not always keep it alive!

I always have said, at best these pumps are nothing but a crap shoot. You can do good things to try an improve your odds, but in the end some make it and some don't. If that's all the problems your havin you may be able to run it for quit a while yet. When it starts getting bad you will notice the power and fuel mileage difference, not to mention it won't start when the pump is hot. So once you shut the truck off plan on bein there for a while.

With that few of miles I think I would be checking some alternate problems as well. Check all the grounds, pull the wire connectors and clean the terminals with an aerosol contact cleaner then use some di-electric grease in the plugs. A bad connection will also give you this same code, it's just not as common as the pump being bad with it. You may have some moisture in some of the plugs if it sits that much.

Well iwas also thinking that when i took the trip i was switching through the levels on the juice pretty quickly while on the way up playing around, thought may be that would throw the pump timing code also.
