You can and should take them to a local injection shop and have them cleaned and popped tested. They use a sonic cleaner and having them pop tested may just save your engine in the long run. My local shop here will do this for most of free but I don't know if that's standard or not.
For just dropin em in somethin I like Seafoam myself. That stuff cleans anything.

On a 24v truck nothing needs to come off. Pull the conector tube and put a valve cover bolt in the top of the injector and yank. I've got a bunch of miller Injector pullers if anyone needs one. $30.00 a peice.
As far as things to watch out for? DONT DROP THEM!!! dont try and pry on anything unless your snapping the CT out. Tranny fluid works fine in the fuel tank, Just dont use a gas & diesel fuel treatment and you'll be fine. For the most part these injectors are service free, You should need to take them out for a clean. Make sure you put your correct copper washers back in and DONT get them mixed up. It rarely causes problems but if one's already compressed to the injector bore in that cylinder it can change your spray pattern and cause some minor problems. Nothing to worry about on an injector below the 150hp range.
If I can be of assistance feel free to call!
