4wd issue
Ok, so i'm kinda new at this so bear with me. But we got a pretty decent snow recently and I used the 4wd on my truck but then stopped for fuel and when i left the station i was pretty much stuck and when i looked under the truck with the girlfriend just puttin it in drive the front driveshaft was spinnin just like it should and the back tires were doin just fine but no power was makin its way to the front tires. A friend of mine said that sometimes theres a pin or somethin like that in the front differential that sometimes breaks, kinda like a sheer pin on a tractors pto. Just wonderin if anyone else has run into this or has any thoughts on it. Thanks for the help in advance!

My old ramcharger had the center axle disconnect that was vacuum actuated, and it liked to stop working. Had to make sure the vacuum lines were not collapsed. Usually just have to replace them and your good to go. May not be your case, but if you do have the CAD system that would explain your exact problem. Hope this helps.

on the frontaxle there is a shifting fork that engages your 4wd and also holds the sensor for your cab 4WD light if your front shaft spins is either the shift fork or you have a vacume leak going to to the shift fork....if you look at the back side of the front axle on the pas side you will see a little cover with 1 wire harness 2 vacum hoses 1 rubber vent line with 4 7/16 bolts holding it on.. if the round part where the vacum hoses go in is rotted i bet thats your prob. im going through the same thingwith mine again..i just paid $125 a couple months ago for a 4wd shft fork at a local junkyard and now its shot again!! So my advice would have to be go to dodge and pay the $292 they want for a brand new one because once again junkyard parts suck...but yea good luck and hope this helps ya
