p pump swap
hey guys i have the opportunity to get a 97 12v that was over heated complete. was thinking what everyone thinks ,do a swap. if i have the complete engine for parts the front cover pump gears . is it possible to do a p pump swap without buying a swap kit. as this is a very economical option for me right now. then i can go for the big hp numbers
Yup - should be fairly straightforward if you have all the parts....you might have to buy old bits and pieces.
Have a buddy in Airdrie that did it. Hes a Millwright, so it wasnt too big of a deal for him. He likes it. Put down close to 500 hp with a S-300.
Im just not sure how to make the cruise control work if that is an issue for you.
Looks like all the stuff you need is listed here:

what are you planning on using just the front cover and injection pump setup? If so you will need the injectors setup for the pressure of the ppump and not the vp 44. Great swap I am planning on doing this when my vp goes bye bye. but I think thats soon..
