#53 Blocks
Yep, the #53 blocks are thinner in certain locations. They seem to be OK until you start the bombing process then they have a tendency to crack. There is a Lock and Stitch method of repair that seems promising.............

About how much does it cost to have the block repaired with lock n stitch?
a lot. luckily i was under warrenty.. i believe the bill was over 2k but thats because to do it properly the engine has to be removed... and torn apart..
Heard of people drilling out the ends of the cracks and welding it back w/cast rods, much cheaper, and ive heard of no problems, but there may be some issues w/em recracking. Dr Evil, u ever heard of people doing this? Personally, im poor, and a welder, so thats what i'd do.
