I have a friend with the a 98.5 Cummins, he has 275 injectors, a 35/40 turbo, Raptor RP-150 Fuel Pump (150 GPH) and a Quad-adrenalin, he keeps throwing a P0253 (M) Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Open Circuit Problem sensed with fuel circuit internal to fuel injection pump. When this happens you can feel a dead spot while driving, if he takes out the Quad-adrenalin the dead spot is gone, and the rig runs fine, any ideas on this, or is the injection pump on the way out.

 

Sounds like a faulty Quad. I'd call em up to get an RMA and send it back to em to have it checked out.

does he have a good tap on the vp?
is he changing fuel settings with the pulse?

 

He has pulled the quad and sent it in once already, they put in the latest greatest update and it still dose the same thing.

He is going to check the tap on the VP and see if that helps.
If the pluse is about 1" high X 3" long, yes he is.

Alright, he dose not have the pulse, he has the Recon XZT.

 

My brothers truck threw the 0253 code for a year. I talked to Brady II about it & he said the 0253 code is caused by the IAT sensor inside of the pump [not the one on the engine] going out. The more fueling you demand, the faster the code will appear.
