Where to start?? I don't know what to do. All fuses are good. All grounds look amazingly clean and tight. All connections look to be good. I've wiggled, unplugged and checked just about every connector under the hood. I sure do wish I had another 99 so I could start swapping parts to see what fixes it.

I would speculate the two connections around where all this work was done

the main connection to the VP

can sensor behind the VP

The other possibility here is that you got a bad VP right out of the box. That is not that uncommon, that's why I always tell guys to be sure where your gettin it from because after the sale service on this item is almost more important then the sale itself.

If this is caused by a bad VP......I'll be installing it in someones *** next.

That has been in the back of my mind, but I just don't want to think that could be the cause. Wouldn't a second bad VP be throwing me some codes though? Don't they almost always throw codes when they take a crap?

It is not uncommon at all to get a bad one out of the box and they go bad all the time and don't throw any codes. These boards are full of posts about guys tryin to decide if their pump is bad cause the truck won't run right but it has no codes showin. Eventually by process of elimination, just what your doin right now, they narrow it down to a bad pump and change it.

Well, I guess I could rip it out and ship it back to see if that's the problem. I'm just not sure if the company is going to be willing to ship me another. Maybe a credit card transaction dispute will help....

You can use this web site to locate an Authorized Bosch service center. They can put the pump on a bench tester and tell you if it is a problem one or not, no guess work involved.

If he unplugs the cam sensor and it doesn't throw a code, it could be a bad ECM or harness. IDK, but it's a thought.

I wish there was a way to know for sure. Should it throw a code or should the check engine light come on with the cam sensor unplugged? Knowing that should tell me that the ECM isn't functioning right.....

Checked them all over and over again. If there is a loose connection, then it's someplace hidden that I can't get to and if that's the case.....it's for sale.
