My cruse control will engage and the light comes on but it will start to speed up and then go wide open throttle. any one have any ideas. The only codes I have had is the po216 after I lost my lift pump. Is it possible that the injection pump and the cruse are tied together?

I have the warning light now...

Mine ended up being a ECM problem. Sold it. Never got it fixed.

 

Mine has the same problem but was able to get it to pop on once for about a minute after i had been messing with my brake switch. My abs light and brake light are on as well. My buddy mentioned I think on some fords if your brake or brake/ABS light are on the cruise will not engage. Is this the case here as well? I know the guy I got it from replaced the front hubs and they are ABS hubs as well but I dont know the brand he used as i have read this can make a difference. Haven't tried much but was curious as to your guys thoughts on this.

 

I would check the wiring from the abs sensor on the rear diff.. Make sure they ain't broke or something
