Surging bad at cold start

Surging bad at cold start
I have a 1999 Dodge Cummins 5.9. When I start the truck in the morning it starts right up but surges bad while also blowing a lot of smoke. Also the amp gage only reads about 8 amps. As it warms up the amp gage goes up to eventually read 13 amps. The surging gets less and less to almost none. Still smoking a lot. I replaced the filters in the 4 year old Air Dog 150.
If I drive it, within a couple miles, it runs good no more surging, no more smoke. Check engine light stays on. I need to go to town and get code readings. Can anyone stear me. in the right direction. Your help is appreciated.

Adding Information.
I just had all the injectors replaced this last week. With the exception of the "check engine light" being on ( I can't swear that it was on before or not)
It was acting this way before I had the injectors replaced.
Got code readings:
PO 122 X2
PO 602 X2
PO 382 X2
PO 215
P. 1696
Your help is appreciated very much.
