98.5 Jerking Lunging low speed acceleration
Hello,
long time stocker first time posting. Bought my first cummins back in 2004 a 98.5 5 speed. still have it and still love it @365XXX miles, love it so much im looking at a 98.5 auto for the miss' to pull the horses with.
Heres the deal
98.5 24v auto 275XXX miles. Guy want $5300. in my mind a steal... but
test drove the truck
bucks and jerks like an SOB at about 10mph engine lurks from about 1400rpm to 2000 rpm ish on the way to about 30 mph. Didnt dare to take it above that speed acting like that.
I have read and read forums and watch vids and nothing is quite like this. People talk about 200-300rpm surges but this was way more than that.
I found 1 video of a 2003 doing what this truck is doing but I understand things changed in 03.
This is the vid i found, didnt do the reverse test but man this is exactly how this 98.5 was acting.
Any input is welcome, even if its to stay away from this truck
Thanks!
