Default Transmission temperature

Yesterday my transmission temperature got a good but higher than normal I usually run about 145°F to 160°Friday but I was doing my normal in town driving and it's got to 197°F it's an automatic fresh rebuild about 10k miles ago fluid looked great and it wasn't low. Any suggestions?

You are fine at that temp however that is unusual for this time of the year. 220 is getting too hot and you better be looking to shut it down at 230. Asuming that you've already checked fluid level, check your trans cooler. It's located at the bottom drivers side corner of the radiator right by the oil catch bottle and can get covered in oil and start clogging up with dirt.

Just fyi, atf+4 is supposed to be good to 250 without any degradation in performance but my personal opinion is if I see my temp getting over 220 for more than a couple minutes I'm pulling over.
