I have never used microguard so I can`t say anything about their quality . I try to always use Fleetguard on my 01 but I have used Wix . Someone here will know about the quality I`m sure .

Microguard filters are junk honestly. I use a Napa gold which is a good solid Wix filter the microguard is as well but I have heard of the diesel eating up the glue that they use in the microguards. Since I now have a new injection pump and lift pump in mine I have changed to a Baldwin filter that goes down to 5 microns. So far it is the best I have found and doesn't get eaten up by the diesel. If you don't get any one those go with fleetguard or donaldson they are also extremely good. I've only seen a couple issues with the donaldson filters where it caused damage to a pump but, it was on a big rig and Donaldson paid for the work due to the issue because it was a bad batch of filters.
