Default 47re rebuild help

Hello there, I'm new to this sight. I joined because I have some questions about my transmission. Specifically about whether to rebuild or buy a new/used one, and any tips and tricks. So my truck is a 2002 2nd gen 24 valve, I believe I have the 47re. I was wondering if anybody on here knew of any good rebuild kits? Also an appoximite timeline on how long a rebuild will take if I do it myself. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I would look to suncoast or revmax for transmission parts. I would recommend getting a factory manual for the rebuild. As for a timeline for the rebuilding...Depends on your automatic transmission skill level. As for removeal from the truck look at about 4 hours.

Firepunk Diesel builds great automatic transmissions. They took 1st place in the diesel power challenge and are located in plain city ohio. Me personally though you can't beat an NV5600 with a good duel disk clutch. My truck used to be an automatic and I went through 3 or 4 of them before I got smart and put a 6spd in it. The entire swap cost me 4 grand and I had it done one day.

I didn't even want to attempt a auto rebuild. So I went with a nv4500 swap. Might go with a g56 next go round. Depending on nv parts availability when it comes time.
