Default 3 Pumps...Still Leaking

Ok, I had Firestone replace my power steering pump. LOOOOOOONG story short, we're on number 3 with their warranty and still having the same leak from the same place. Any suggestions or comments on what might be causing this and how to fix it?

what and where is it exactly leaking from?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

a cheap method to stop leaks is to use ATF as power steering, but it might now work in your case

Ae you sure it's the power steering leakin and not the Vaccuum pump that attaches to it. It's all pretty tight under there and sometimes hard to see the difference. Vaccuum pumps are also a common item to leak when they need rebuilding.

Well it looks like it's leaking where the pump seats up against the block, and it's definitely power steering fluid. It'll be good for a few days and then I'll have to add fluid again.

Bubba, I don't know anything about a vaccum pump. This is my first diesel truck so I'm still learing, that's why I let Firestone do it, hoping I would save time and money in the long run, but it's just been a damn headache dealin with them. I'm about to just forget the warranty and take it to a cummins shop.

The power steering pump and the Vaccuum pump are bolted together to make a single unit. This unit bolts to the back side of the timing case that is on the front of your engine. If it is leaking at that timing case then it is the Vaccuum pump leaking, as it is what connected to the truck and in between the power steering and the engine. Check out this link to help explain more.

WHATS INSIDE MY DODGE DIESEL VACUUM PUMP

You will also find very few shops that know how to work on these trucks that's why we spend so much time on here learning. Even on the rare occasion that for some resaon I have to take my truck to the shop, it never leaves my site. If I can't stand there and watch then I drive away. Even the dealers themselves for the most part don't know how to fix these trucks. It's startin to get better with more of them on the road now days but it's still a problem. Your better off just studying about your problem here, ask the questions and do it yourself.

when my dad bought my truck it was leaking at the Vaccuum pump and the local shop said they could reseal it so he did that few days later it was still leaking turns out they used the wrong gasket so the did it again and no issues... it was leakin at the block and oil gets costly

try some dye in the fluid and you may be able to pinpoint were it is leaking from exactly

could also pressurize the resevoir with about 5-10psi so you could look with the engine off,
