edge 30300 vs. 30301 conversion?

edge 30300 vs. 30301 conversion?
A guy has a edge comp box that fits the 98-00 truck and I have a 2001 year model truck... if I change the map sensor in the truck to older version will it work? Will the edge comp software still work in the newer year modEl truck? A quick reply will be greatly appreciated.
