I think it may be the "old fluid to fresh fluid" thing, or perhaps the vehicle had been thrown into park while still in motion, either way thats in the past. Has anyone upgraded the auto transmission in the 24v4x4 2500 rebuilt the transmission that is in there( where would i look to tell wich one ) what woul be the aprox time frame for a transmission rebuild by ones self.

 

I would check out suncoast or revmax. Revmax will be cheaper and you can get it all in one package. As for rebuilding it yourself I don't know but I would recommend if you are wanting to do it yourself buy the ASTM book for the 47re.

 

I would not recommend building your own transmission. I would highly recommend Firepunk. We are an authorized dealer.

Building an auto is not complicated but if u don't know what your doing don't tear it apart buy one. Now if u wanna attempt to rebuild one go to scrapyard and get a 700r4 or c6 n take it apart and put back together clearance everything n keep doing it so you have a better understanding at how these units work. Experience is #1

 

Start with those trannies and maybe work up to a 47
