I've got a 98 24 valve and just bought the flex a lite 262 electric fan setup for my truck but when going to install it I had to remove the clutch fan which was completely seized on "yes I went cw" so to get it off we had to torch it now obviously that caused the fan pulley bearing to go bad so now I want to delete the whole thing completely. I need to know if it's possible to re-route the serpentine belt without this and any ideas on new belt size would be appreciated thanks in advance

 

Never heard of that being done. I imagine an assembly can be picked up for a reasonable price from a wrecker.

 

Ok I just wanted to post my findings in case anybody else here runs into this issue or does the electric fan conversion and just wants to completely remove fun clutch hub assembly like me.

I ended up using a belt from gates 1-3/32 x 70" from car quest part #k080694 I would suggest getting one maybe 5/8" longer just to give back some more slack on the tensioner but this worked great if you cut out straight past the fan pulley and route as normal under water pump and over alternator it will keep the wp running ccw

I will post a new routing diagram for this later when I get home hope this helps
