I'm thinking about buying a boost fooler for my 2nd gen 24 valve Cummins is this a good or bad idea? Don't want to sound ignorant but I've got a list of things I'm wanting to do to the truck and slowly building it up but I don't want to tear anything up y'all help me out!

X2 on the boost fooler. THat was my third mod. I went first with exhaust, then Intake & CAI, and then boost fooler. It cuts down on exhaust smoke and helps efficiency.

How do I change the turbo pressure? And what did you do to the exhaust?

The Boost Fooler will add boost pressure. It literally fools the computer "telling" it that there isnt enough boost. On a stock engine the boost fooler will add 8-10 psi additional boost. More fuel, more boost. FYI, most programmers have a boost fooler built in. Chech that out first before you get a stand alone boost fooler.
As for my exhaust, I replaced the exhaust system with an AEM 4 inch mandrel bent system from the turbo all the way back. I later found a 5 inch tail section on ebay and bought it. I had it welded to the muffler, and now it looks like a 5" exhaust system from the rear.

Ya cant beat the Smarty & Smarty Jr. Ive used the Smarty Jr. in the past. I still have it but currently not using it. I may re install it after my trans rebuild. Its on borrowed time as it is.

I would agree on a common rail. Otherwise I'd say Edge. More power. On the fly adjustability. Smarty does make great products though there's no doubt. I haven't ever run one. 65 hp added on a stock VP truck. Edge will make 120, 150 with hot unlock. Plus with the Juice with Attitude you get data logging, backdown settings, gauges, turbo timer, etc.

Edge is the way to go. Not only for the power, but the features.
