Default 98 cummins

i just bought a 98 a couple weeks ago ran fine till last week and the check engine light came on and it started idling funny and it has no power me and the guy i bought it from re wired the map sensor where the wires were corroded and it fixed it till yesterday and its back to the same thing again the gauges will work for a little bit after i start the truck and then they will quit working and the odometer will start flashing its putting out p1693 and p0237 low map voltage but its gutless and the guy i got the truck from says its the crankshaft position sensor but its not throwing a code up anyone know what could be going on any help would surely help thanks

Take your map out and clean it they get really dirty and do you air intake temp sensor as well

i changed the cranks sensor today and that definatly wasnt the problem still doin it im thinking its a bad map sensor because after we fixed it i had no problems no idiot lights for 3 days and its back and running like crap so i think its the map sensor because it worked fine for a couple days after we re wired where the wires were split so im thinking that would be next on the list whats everyone think

Take you map sensor out and clean it befor you spend 80$ on a new one and also clean your air intake temp sensor as well chances are it will fix you issue
