Default Head stud problem

I have a 98.5 dodge that I put in a 12v block, anyway when I had the head of I bottom taped all the holes in the block for the studs to go in. WHen I went to torqe down the studs in sequence did the steps to 125 the stud way in the back of the head keeps slipping. the stud itself threads down into the bore of the block just fine but when you go to put torque down on the nut the stud itself seems to back out and become loose and you cant get torque on it..... anyone ever have this happen? what else can I do?

Is there a helicoil in the specific bore ? Did you run the stud down snug then put the nut on and try to tighten

Could could try a helicoil or other type of thread repair. I personally wouldn't do it but it would likely be ok. If it blows a gasket or the stud continues to pull before taking torque you could always pull the block and have it machined for the bigger studs.

Yea that is really touchy i would imagine you put studs in because you want to make some power and any kind of helicoil or thread repair is going to be iffy and it sux cause its the very worst one it could be as far as repair goes
