I was reading about a guy with an 01 that says u can get the ecm reflashed and high idle will be automatic! What smarty is capable of doing this? And is it possible for a 99!

 

The SMARTY is able to reflash the ECM for the high idle and 3 cylinder high idle. The high idle and 3 cylinder is automatic. Make sure the SMARTY is one for the 98.5 - 02. You just have to load any CaTCHER tune and then load your stock program, if you use a borrowed one.

 

S-03 smarty (for 98.5-02) will enable high idle.

conditions for high idle to run automatically:

6 cyl: IAT reading below 32*F, ECT reading below 140*F to start high idle. auto shut off at > 170*F

3 cyl: IAT reading below 15*F, ECT reading below 140*F to start high idle. auto shut off at > 170*F

usually shuts off at 172*F
