Running Too Cold?

Running Too Cold?
This seems unusual to me but my truck runs to cold. Normal driving it will barely get into the 140 mark. When I tow my toyhauler loaded down (or anything else for that matter) it will get up to normal 190ish range and I can see it cycle up and down as the thermostat is opening and closing.
I know it cannot be good to run cold like that all the time.
History on the truck....
Had Cummins re-block the engine due to 53 block crack. Before that it would run normal temps. I know they cleaned the radiator and xxxxxxx coils and probably put a new thermostat in. I has about 30k miles since the rebuild.
I have the smarty with 100 hp injectors, straight piped with all the gauges and Goerand Bros tranny and TC
So what do you think? I have ran an air dam in the winter to get the heater to warm up but I dint want to run on in the summer time, I dont think I should have too.....

Almost has to be either a bad thermostat that is sticking open or a problem with the temp guage not readin right.
Welcome to the site, always good to have new blood hangin around. Don't forget to fill in the signature area so we know the details of the truck your drivin. This helps us give you the right advice.

Just updated my signature...
I think the thermostat/temp gauge is working properly cause I can see the temp rise and fall while towing.
I do know that the heater will not get warm unless I put an air dam in front of the radiator and the temp gauge will respond to it also. When the temp gauge gets in the normal range the heater will put out warm air.
One guy suggested that I was fueling to much and it was keeping it cool. Does any of you guys that are running aftermarket injectors having this trouble?
My Smarty is set on 3 IIRC. When I ran it on 5 it would do the same. Not sure if this would make a difference.
Thanks for the welcome!!!

Even if you think you see it cycling unless it's really cold you won't see that drastic a change in the temp differences to be able to tell when it's opening and closing. So the thermostat might still be opening and closing, just not when it's supposed to. The springs wear out and they don't wrok right anymore.
Your guage may also be reading temps, just reading them lower then the reality.
These are the only two things it really can be. If you were over fueling you would run to hot and EGT's skyrocket.
