Yes you would think so but the computers do silly things some time. My gut feeling is it is bad programing of the pcm. Nothing you can really do about it at this time... I know there are some other guys out there who do custom programs of chrysler PCMs but as far as getting it from chrysler, you would be SOL.
Mopar1973man, you are correct that much of the diagnostics for that code is in the ABS but it is a powertrain code and as such is a valid code on other chrysler vehicles that do not have ABS. It just happens on this truck that the speed single is sent from the ABS module to the PCM. When you state that it is an ABS code, I take that as a code that is read directly out of the ABS module. A more correct way of stating it would be, it is a powertrain DTC that many times is caused by an ABS speed sensor fault.
I don't mean any disrespect and really just enjoy talking shop. I have no longer work in the auto repair trade and miss it a lot. I spent 15 years working at our local Dodge dealership and have been spinning wrenches since I got out of high school. Now I work for an oil field company as a mechanic on heavy equipment. The Pay is similar but not commission but the benefits are far and away better than I ever had at Dodge. If it wasn't for that I would have gone back to Dodge in a heartbeat.
