#53 hard block ?'s
What Ares some thoughts about using hard blok in a # 53 block, for race only.

Has anyone messed around with hard blok in a cracked 53 block? For race use only? I have an engine sitting here that needs to do something other than waste space and thought hard blok, lots of fuel and lots of air would be a much more suitable fate for it.

Back when I had a 6.5 there was a lot of talk about this subject in all types of motors not just race motors. Those blocks had all sorts of issues.
As for the 53 blocks... isn't the percentage of cracked 53 blocks less than 1% (I thought I read that somewhere) and a cracked block can be locknstiched for a permanent fix. I would think that for a race only application you could just keep an eye on the block in the crack prone spots and fix *if* a crack developed.
Sorry to not answer the original intent of your ?, because I honestly don't know if that would fix the cracking issue without creating some other major problems, but seems to me that there are lots of high-hp 53 blocks that have been abused and still no cracks...
