What boost PSI should I be seeing.

But the problem is that once you exceed a normal range of efficiency then the drive pressure rises above your boost pressure which is known as choke point and now the boost air becomes hotter.
Kind of like this...

I'm using a HX35W turbo (stock) on my truck with a Edge Products boost elbow. That allows me a max boost pressure of 35 PSI. I've added RV275's and Edge Comp and have plenty of power with the two mods. Since I'm building around the stock turbo because of my exhaust brake I'm at my limits per say.
The biggest problem is people add way too much fuel and increase the turbo to much and end up with a seriously laggy turbo and extremely smoky daily driver. I've managed to produce roughly 400 HP and do it completely smokeless and still hold low 20's MPG as a daily driver. My current problem is I can out right smoke 2nd gear and bark 3rd gear give you an idea of my power.
I'm more of a work truck than a toy...

Ok, I can't ever remember what turbo my truck has, its an auto and its stock. Is the boost elbow the one that will have a set screw in the bend off it. I think I have one of those somewhere. but I was told not to put it on a turbo that is in a auto trans truck.

Thats me also, Sure its cool to have a fast truck, but in my opinion these trucks were built to work. If I want something fast, I'll buy a camaro,or mustang etc.

I'm not so much as fast but good solid trailer tower, good MPG, and reliable. I'm sure there is lots of truck out there that can whip me for sure speed wise but where I got them hand down is the MPG game.

Ahhh... You got a HY35W turbo with a hard line. So yes a good upgrade would be to to jump for a HX35W. That would get back to normal par with the rest of the group.

Thanks for that video, and pic of the J-hook. Now need to find time to run to the hardware store and some supplies.

I'm the type that likes to know how something works, So I ask, how does a J- hook work. apparently it holds the waste gate shut. what until it reaches a certain point to over come the spring tensions then open up?
