Default pre lift pump strainer

I am looking to install a strainer on the inlet side of my raptor 100. It has locked up twice since I installed it in the last 5000 mi. due to real small debris. I have 1/2 line coming out of tank, my Idea is to instalL a shut off valve ( for easy servicing so i don't get a bath in diesel) then a strainer before the inlet port. I can not find a strainer for a 1/2 line, anybody know where I can get one? I heard the older raptors came with a built in strainer but mine didn't

You could do something like this and block 2 ports or just find a 2 port one. The ports are 1/2" Im sure some tractors have 1/2" line filters that might work too. I wouldnt do this one exactly since it has a glass bowl it could catch a rock.

filter assembly

You could also look into -10AN inline filters.

This one is a 1" 2 port that will flow 300 gph. It could be adapted down easily.

Have a John Deere dealership close by? Multiple pieces of Deere equipment utilize a 1/2" fuel strainer in the fuel line, pre filter/pump. The part number is AT223493, and it is held in place with hose clamps.

I had the same problem and went back to my marine diesel days, always getting bad fuel on the docks. Between the tank and my raptor, I installed a vp max filter/seperator from Vulcan and it solved the issue and it offers more protection. Easy to install and didn't cost a buttload either.

Good deal. I figure if that strainer and allow flow for a 400HP, 12.5L/13.5L engine in a Payloader, it will serve a 5.9L just fine.
