i got a set of 06 rims 17s with some 35 12.50 tires on my truck with a 2 inch leveling kit and they the tire rubs on the control arm on one side? i had a set of 315 75 16s is it the spacing on the 3rd gen rims? i guess i could get some spacers

 

no just the tire itself, every tire is different even if it says 12.5 they are all different. But in this case 315/75 converts to 34" and 12.4" wide

 

When I worked in the tire industry years ago that symptom
was referred to as "maximizing the tire size" for the vehicle.

 

Every tire is different. I used to run 32's a/t's on my dakota with minimal rub but a buddy of mine had the same size tire only in a m/t and they rubbed a lot.
