I some how have lost the key to my vp44 some where in my shop, the pump is stamped 044 and I believe the part # is 3944039

I took the old pump key out and put it in (#036) now it runs good but it dies or stumbles when ya pull it in gear sometime, I know you have to keep the key with the pump or you will have timing issues

dose any one know where I can get another 044 key

Does it stumble at all during driving or while at high rpms?

 

Have you tried price quote in the armory?

 

Any Dodge or Cummins dealer should have it. Some part stores may have a generic set of keys as well.

 

well as fat as driving it runs like a spanked ape, just when you pull it in gear some times it stumbels but pick right back up, and if its cold it smokes white and pops and farts for a bout 30 seconds or so, i know that being turned up it will smoke a little but this is bad, it will bust right off with no problem,

as far as the dealer they only have 006 to 0026 so i was told and havent asked parts stores

 

What is the difference in the keys?

 

its some thing to do with keeping the timing true with the rebuild specs in the pump
