Has anyone tried to eliminate the ac pump on a 99 5.9 *** and replace the original with a shorter belt??My pump took a crap the system is shot anyhow but the guys at the parts store said to check he didnt think a non ac belt would fit it was 20 inches shorter??

 

They make a bracket with an idler pully for some vehicles that bolts in in place of the compressor. Call the parts store and ask for an AC compressor delete, usually around 20-30 bucks.

 

I did mine 1 yr ago& did not use any idler pulley or bracket.There is adiagram on the radiator support showing how to route it, I'm pretty sure I changed the tensioner pulley also,I used a napa micro-vat belt#25-080653,ask them about the tensioner pulley if it is thesame with out air
