Any idea where to look for the cause? I'm assuming possibly a vacuum. No rhyme or reason to it...maybe after 15 minutes, maybe after an hour. Any advice appreciated....even though it's getting COLD here!

May be the Hi/LO pressure switch. Are you sure it is full of Freon?

 

I just bought the truck about a month ago. Didn't think about checking the freon...I'll do that for sure. Do you mean the selector switch on the dash, or somewhere that's probably a day's work to get to *snicker*. I really appreciate the reply.

first check your pressure. my truck does the same thing. I'm 99% sure its the orifice tube gone bad in mine. I plan on rebuilding my a/c in the spring. new compressor and etc.
