Default trans questions

I have a 47re that was just installed 10,000 miles ago. seems like the torque converter is already starting to slip. I have been debating the idea of converting it to a manual. I have no intentions of ever racing or pulling my truck, I just want a good dependable truck. Is this a good idea? if so what trans would be good to go with?

When you say, installed 10k ago. Did you have a stock replacement torque converter put in?Thats probab;y most likely your problem. I would double check that first before going the whole conversion route. You can get a better torque converter that will hold up to all your needs. such as a single disc or even a triple disc.

Does it only slip while cruising (tach jumping 200-400 rpm)? If so all you need is an apps noise isolator. 94 05 BD Diesel 5 9L Dodge RAM Apps Noise Isolator Automatic Transmission Fix | eBay

A well built auto is just as good if not better than a manual
