so last night i disconnected the batteries and this morning i swapped them around and reconnected them, everthing is back to normal. im not sure if it was a bad battery or if it was the ecm that needed to reset but regarless everything is back to normal and the light comes on now. ill be going to get my batery tested later to see if that was the issue. thanks for all your help
