Ok I have a 1999 2500 with the 47re. When the trans is cold it shifts flawlessly! When its hot it shifts into 2nd just fine, but it hunts for 3rd and when it finds 3rd sometimes it will stay in and sometimes it wont! It cant make up its mind!! When it does stay in 3rd long enough to go into overdrive it will stay in overdrive!! Most of the problems I have read about are with 3rd and 4th but mine is with 2nd and 3rd. I just noticed tonight that the T.C. is starting to lock and unlock in overdrive a little. I have replaced the governor pressure solenoid and transducer, shift kit in valve body, added a couple ground wires, cleaned all the other ground wires, cleaned battery posts, put a new APPS on the truck and did the ATS rewire fix and still nothing! Im thinking about putting one of those noise filters on and maybe rerouting the pass. side battery ground??? PLEASE HELP!!!!

 

Yea do the noise filter next or rap the wires behind the alternator with aluminum foil. I had trouble with my TC but luckily and APPS Relearn and cleaning BATT Terminals fixed the proablem.

 

Got it fixed!!! Wanted to let yall know incase some one was following this. I ended up taking the trans out, with the tourqe converter out you could take the input shaft and push it in and out ALOT!!! So much that once it warmed and the shaft would move forward some of the seals would leake. Anyway we shimed it back up and its shifting great!!!!
