Default body lift without steering extension

is it ok to take the steering extension off that goes onto the steering box? the splines where it slides into the gearbox are wore out and causing play in the steering wheel. i took it off and it bolts right back onto shaft on the steering box. that little aluminum extension is $160.

Anybody?

If it will go back on without the extension you should be okay. How big of a body lift is it? I have done a couple body lifts on various trucks (chevy fords dodges nissans) and all were 2 inches and one 3 inch and none of them even came with a steering extension they all worked though so I dont see why yours should be any different.

it is a 3 inch i believe. i was just worried about the steering shaft breaking or coming apart. i know it only comes out so far but anything can happen.
