Default VP44 Replacement.

Codes:
P0251, P0252, P0602 & P1693

Driving down the road, went to pass a truck and everything went quiet. Coasted about a mile down hill and parked it. Truck turns over, but won't fire.

My mechanic is towing it to the shop today.
My guess is the injection pump, I have fuel at the fuel filter, so I know the lift pump is fine.

He is going to put the FASS system on, as well as the fuel pressure gauge and boost gauge.

Just need to see what the IP is doing.

* Everyone still recommend the Hot Rod VP44?

I'm running An Edge Drag Comp stacked with a Smarty, After market air intake, 4" exhaust. FASS Fuel Sys. (after today) Injectors are probably the only other bomb I'm planning on. Then a tranny.

Thanks, Mark

I've never been a believer in the HRVP's myself, but I don't say that to loud cause it get's me yelled at to often. So far nobody has shown me side by side dyno's of the difference and these pumps have been out for some years now. I also don't understand the logic behind them. Your injectors restrict the amount of fuel that get's through to the cylinders so as song as the injectors are not being short changed on fuel how can any pump create more power. The computer controls the amount of fuel and the injectors limit it, where in here does the pump figure in.

I'll take some lumps for this one, but I've asked these questions many times and so far have never gotten an answer that has shown me where I'm wrong here.

The HRVP is not a very good option! Stick with the SO, They can be had from a quality rebuilder for around $900-955.00! Secondly, I would say, it is your pump... but without being at the truck its hard to say!!
If I can help, Give me a Call!

Thanks
Lucas

Blue Chip Diesel has the same warranty on his pumps as long as you use the cover plate and not a wire tap.

Why not get a monster pump. I'll bet they'd kick the dog poo out of a HRvp, or So vp!!
Call FBD for more specifics. Have fun and enjoy!
