Default Fuel milage driving/programmers

I am a college student at UK and just got an 02 HO with 4.10 gears. The only mods to the truck is a s&b CAI, straight pipe, and airdog. Most of my driving is in town with the occasional 140 mile round trip home. I am new to diesels and standard transmissions I am looking for tips for better mileage. Such as optimum shift points and cruising rpm as well as other driving habits. I know slowing down helps but realistically im not goin to run 60 on the highway when the limit is 70. The truck runs about 2100 to 2200 rpm at 65-70. The truck has 33's on it would a 35 help economy to offset the 4.10's? I would also like any suggestions on a programmer or other mods. I have my eye on the juice with attitude partly because it has gauges built in. I'm not looking to race or pour tons of smoke to show off just reliable power and ecomomy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

35s will offset the 4.10s a little but you'll have to keep in mind that you'll be going about 7mph faster than indicated. I really didn't get much of a mileage increase with my edge. You might want to look into a water/meth injection kit from snow performance. They say 1-3mpg increase and 70hp. I plan on getting one in the near future.

The injector companys say that installing up to 85hp injectors will yield better mileage as well.

35's would help out with the 4.10s. I would go with a set of 50hp or 75hp injectors. Could also pick up a 3 piece manifold. Either one would help alot with MPG's. I did both at the same time on mine and gained 3mpg.

and the smarty has the setting to fix your spedo with the big tires and good settings if you need to tow or just want to haul some donkeys! no gauges is the down side but you can get a set for about 350

i have a quadzilla adrenaline which you can get with gauges too and its a hundred or so dollars less than the edge juice and you get more power, i have big k&n air intake, 4 inch straight pipe to dual 6in stacks, 33x12.5x17 inch tires, a fass 150hd, with a 6 speed and 4.10 gears and my truck gets 17.5 mpg around town, i mostly only drive to work and back which is 8 miles one way so i am sure the mpg would be better if it wasnt so short of a drive. i can tell you the quadzilla adrenaline really woke the truck up. i still wish i had 3.55 gears. i would probably get around 20 mpg around town easily.
