Default Electrical Problem?

Alright this morning I go to leave the lake and go to work and the truck starts and runs fine with lights on. Drive about 3mi. and the truck just dies. WTF. Pull over try to start and no go. Shut the lights off and truck starts, turn the lights on truck dies. Hmm ground problem? Start it again and everything thing is fine. Now today I get home and turn the lights back on and the truck dies. Ran great all day without lights. What ya think? Must be a ground some where? Why no other issues?

pull the fuse for the light and see if turning on the lights will turn the truck off.

it does sound like a short to ground, probably in the wires going through the firewall or something under your dash. the wire from the key telling the truck to stay running must be grounding out and the truck it self never get the voltage from the ignition switch and then killing it.

random guess but sounds possible to me. you could try jiggling the wires and maybe if the wires dont touch anymore.

Pulled the fuses and it still kills the truck when I turn on the switch and also if I hit the high beam on the directional signal it kills the truck.

ok youre gonna have to check and inspect the wire haness for any wires that have been rubbed though.

do you have an aftermarket alarm installed on the truck?

No alarm system.
I'm kind of with you on the rubbed wire or grounding issue. Haven't had time to look at it yet but hopefully later today Thanks for your input Bud
