Didn't even think about weak batteries or a bad cable.

Loosen three injector lines at the valve cover. Crank the engine a few times for 30 seconds and if fuel only comes out one line or none of the lines, this indicates a seized rotor.

You may also try takin to an Auto Zone or someplace like that and have them check for codes also. Different scanners will not pick up some of the codes. And to make it worse some codes can only be read by the dealers.

It sounds like the problem is isolated to something controled by the "crank" postion of your ignition switch that is not affected by the "run" position.

If I understand your statement correctly, when you "crank" the truck it spins but doesn't start, but when you "tow it down the road and it will fire right up" - I assume you turn the key "on" and engage the tranny, the same as a "push start". Is this correct?

I'm thinking it may be the ignition switch itself.

Yes it cranks fast, after the brand new VP i got that elliminated, sucks i spent the money though, i talked to Josh@ diesel solutions and he told me to get a real scanner and check to see if the rpms for the pump and the sensors match up, and see if the pump is being told to turn on, he said if not then try the cam sensor, so now iv got to go ask for favors now LOL.
