cracked inot the pump and put in a #10 fuel plate, started it up and i had fuel dumping everywhere!.... looked a little closer and saw i bumped the little valve on the fuel filter boy was i glad to see that

Was it a small shaft hx40 by any chance?

OUCH. What do you thing caused it? Turbo bark, shudder or over boosting.

it wore, siezed up and snapped the shaft. the turbine and compressor wheels were ate up very badly from spinning inside the covers too.

What is that? I've never seen a 40 with any smaller shaft than any other holset of the same frame size. As best I can figure the only reason they break the shaft more often is cause the bigger wheels create more strain.

Okay I've heard of them having smaller weak shafts on the hx40's.
