It was just a simple question, can't bash someone for trying to figure something out. That's what the forum is for, not everyone on here pulls sled or runs the strip.

I think it's harder to get a VE pump to lope than a P7100 or VP44, big lines is one factor but that alone won't do it, my truck lopes when it's cold for about 20 seconds.

well i guess i should ask is why does it happen? is it just too much fuel for the engine to burn at low rpms or?

From what columbus diesel has said it has to do with injection pressure but, thats about all they say. They mentioned gov. springs and delivery valves can make a lope. They are building a p pump for us with a lope in it per customer request. They must be able to see something on the bacharach or whatever bench they use to know wether it will lope or not. I can only speak for the p pumps, not very familiar with ve pumps.

With the p pumps it has something to do with the pressures in the dv's and pop pressures in the injectors. With the newer pumps it is because the system is searching "hunting" for the fuel to idle correctly so it is pumping more and then less fuel repeatedly through the cycle. As far as the ve I have no idea.

vp44's lope because of whats above, that hunting. and you can get a ve pump to lope!! its not like lope..1 second later lope... one second later, lope, its like lope lope lope lope lope haha idk how to mimick it but theres my try, happenes when you go to a 14mm pump head. why? idk. just every 14mm head i have listened too in person and online all lope when the transmission is in gear. (in a auto)
